Browser Optimization For Privacy And Security.

We all want to log onto our computer without landing on a malicious site !

Do you know that the advertising companies have grown to such an extent that it can scrap your browser history, can build up personal profiles of your activity without your consent , cookies and many more which can lead to compromise your data and can cause data loss.

Whenever you are using your browser in their default mode one wrong click will land you to a different malicious website , which can lead to fully compromise your system.

But you can protect and prevent your data by using browser extensions also known as browser plugins so as to achieve the maximum privacy and security.

Following are the browser extensions that should be used while using your browser :

HTTPS Everywhere : It is a Chrome as well as Firefox extension by the EFF that forces connections to web servers to be performed over HTTPS. So, if you are browsing for a site for e.g. http://www.xyz.com, the extension will change your request to https://www.xyz.com . It ensures that you are getting to a site which is safe and secure.

Privacy Badger: This is another project given by EFF which is a Chrome as well as Firefox extension that monitors websites' behaviour dynamically identifying those that are collecting the tracking information.

An Ad Blocker: Advertisers are the biggest threat to web-based privacy. They track every move you do while surfing online and with the help of it they build up your personal profile of your behaviour and actions. To prevent such type of hazards that online ads present , you need to install an adblocker.

Certificate Patrol: The certificate patrol add ons for Firefox monitors for updates in SSL certificates in web services. This therefore helps the users to detect when rogue certificates have been created in an attempt to break SSL connections.

Will the Internet Be Ever Secure?

Ever since the evolution of Internet , there are a plenty of security lapses that we find daily. The major perspective here is to understand how did the Internet evolve?  Well, it was used as a sharing platform , security was not the inbuilt feature of Internet at the beginning stage .As the complexity of the Internet grew , the security problems began to rise. Any entity associated with security , usability and functionality follows a rule i.e. security is inversely proportional to usability and functionality. In reference to the above rule the global reach of Internet is based on functionality and usability . So, it's obvious to say that "nothing over the Internet can remain secure forever" .

Privacy And Security Over The Internet...

Many people have got this misconception that privacy and security doesn't go hand by hand but it's wrong ! Privacy & security are the major matrix through which we can measure data breaches and data security. As i have started a primer on internet privacy , i will classify this into various parts : 1. What are the biggest privacy concerns over the internet ? 2. What are the steps need to be taken to make our data safe & secure ? 3. How we can have privacy over internet by using cryptography. When it comes to cryptography why should we use it ,how it gives privacy and security ? To understand internet tracking and privacy concerns over the internet we need to understand how internet actually works and how all the free services over the internet functions and how data collection is being done over the internet . This primer is a long series which covers every aspect of internet security and privacy starting with browsers ,how we optimize them , what are the e
